Transport
The Centre has 8 minibuses available with enough seating for 17 people (including the driver) and with 3-point seat belts throughout.
Due to the type of buses and NYCC requirements, prospective drivers will need to have 4 years driving experience, a D1 entitlement on a clean driving licence (no points, even for speeding) and have passed a MiDAS minibus driving test before driving with children. Please note that any other minibus test will no longer be accepted.
Please note than new laws mean that people who passed their driving test after January 2007 do not have the entitlement (D1) to drive minibuses on their licence and are unlikely to meet the standards to do so without the D1. For further information about this, please
consult MiDAS, or if in doubt about your trip, please contact the Centre.
Staff intending to drive must produce original documentation at the start of their visit for us to photocopy and keep on file (paper and plastic driving licence, minibus certificate).
Please note that you will not be permitted to drive unless you have provided us with these documents.
East Barnby has adopted the MiDAS scheme run by the Community Transport Association. For further information about MiDAS, please click the MiDAS logo.
