Accolades for young leadership scheme  27/11/2008

A flagship scheme which trains young people from North Yorkshire in outdoor leadership and mentoring skills is celebrating three years of success. The scheme, which is called OP4U and is run jointly by North Yorkshire County Council's Outdoor Education and Youth Services, has trained over 100 young people in leadership skills through outdoor adventure projects. Mountaineer Alan Hinkes, the first British man to climb all 14 of the Himalaya's 8,000 metres peaks, including K2 and Everest, has become patron of North Yorkshire County Council's Outdoor Education Service.  19/05/2008
